Responsibilities
CHI St. Alexius Health’s experienced surgical teams are focused on providing patient-centered care – from your preoperative exam, to your entry into our surgical suites, to keeping your loved ones informed. Our physicians represent a wide range of surgical fields – from general, to plastic, to bariatric, to orthopaedic, to neurosurgery, to emergency surgery and more – placing CHI St. Alexius Health and its medical staff among the most trusted in the region. With the most modern technologies at their fingertips, our surgeons employ advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic surgery, which involves minimal incisions for less scarring and faster healing to minimally invasive surgery.
We are looking for a responsible and compassionate surgical technician with top-notch organization skills, a caring attitude, attention to detail and the ability to think quickly on their feet. As a key member of the team, the surgical technician must anticipate the needs of the patient and the surgeon to ensure that each operation goes as smoothly as possible. It is also important to display excellent verbal skills; knowledge of asepsis, case preparation and infection control. The Surgical Technician works as a part of the surgical team under the direction of surgeons and/or registered nurses. This position contributes to the safety and efficiency of the surgical team by performing a variety of tasks before, during, and after surgical/invasive procedures.
